Abstract

|
Objectives: This analysis of prescription used for low back pain in the Yomun(é¦Ú¦) chapter of ¡¶Donguibogam(ÔÔì¢ÜÄÊü); The Precious Mirror of Oriental Medicine¡· is designed to be helpful to practical use of clinics.
Methods: Prescriptions used for low back pain in the Yomun(é¦Ú¦) chapter of ¡¶Donguibogam(ÔÔì¢ÜÄÊü)¡· were classified and analyzed according to the frequency of prescriptions and the characteristics of each herbs in prescriptions(efficacy, used frequency, related organs etc.).
Results and conclusions: After analysis, we obtained the following results :
1. The causes of low back pain are mainly eohyeol(åÜúì), yangheo(åÕúÈ), punghanseub(ù¦ùÎã¥). In care of low back pain, I suppose more efficiency that if Angelica gigas NAKAI(Ó×Ïý) Cnidium officinale MAKINO(ô¹Ïä) Prunus persica BATSCH(ÓþìÒ) is added when the cause is eohyeol(åÜúì), or if Psoralea corylifolia L.(÷òͯòµ), Cinnamomum cassia PRESL(ë¿Ìý), Foeniculum vulgare MILL(üíúÅ), Eucommia ulmoides OLIV.(Ôá?), Citrus unshiu MARKOVICH(òçù«) are added when the cause is yangheo(åÕúÈ), or if Phellodendron amurense RUPR.(üÜÛÚ), Notopterygium incisum TING(˶üÀ), Atractylodes Japonica KOIDZ.(óïõô) are added when the cause is punghanseub(ù¦ùÎã¥).
